Roles Management

Role management is the process of controlling what actions are visible to a user or group of users or users in an organization by associating that information with a role. A role represents the category of user within a company (For example, administrator and supervisor) and is defined based on the responsibilities and privileges associated with the particular user category. Upon defining a role that exposes only the necessary functionalities and information to the user, it creates a focused and simplified user interface, reducing confusion by eliminating areas of the user interface that could be distracting. This capability allows a facility manager to ensure that a vendor, tenant, or other group of users are presented with a streamlined and focused set of information and actions.

Introduction

The primary goal of this module is to allow access only for the specified interface elements (for example, buttons, tabs and fields) to a user category upon defining roles.

Points to Remember

The permissions configured for the system-defined roles cannot be altered, whereas you can customize the permissions for the user-defined roles as and when required.
